On March 22nd, 2018, a national dissemination event was held in Iceland at the University of Iceland for 99 student teachers in the course „Education for sustainability: Competences in changing times.“ Caitlin Wilson, from the Icelandic Environment Association and researcher in the I SEE project, held a lecture for the class and shared with them examples of I SEE activities for them to work with further.
The I SEE project was presented along with the pedagogical approach and activities piloted in the summer school in Bologna in 2017. Results from the student evaluations and interviews from the summer school were shared, along with I SEE researchers‘ analyses of that data.
The student teachers were then given the chance to work further with I SEE principles by applying them to their own teaching context. The I SEE concept and project were well-received by the class, which aims to find best practice examples of educational responses to environmental challenges.
